Does Missouri require a bill of sale for trailer transfers?
A bill of sale is strongly recommended even where not legally required. It documents the purchase price for any applicable taxes, establishes the transaction date, and protects both parties. Always get one when buying or selling a trailer in Missouri.
How long does it take to get a title in Missouri?
Standard title applications in Missouri are processed at the County License Office. Registration and plates are typically issued same-day at the office window. The physical title certificate is mailed to you within 2–6 weeks depending on state processing times.
Can I register an out-of-state trailer in Missouri?
Yes. Bring the out-of-state title signed over to you, your Missouri ID, the completed Form 108 application, and fee payment to your County License Office. They will issue a Missouri title in your name. This is a standard process and does not require a bonded title.
